Boarding |

| Cross-Checking |  | Cross-check shall mean a check delivered with both hands on the stick and no part of the stick on the ice. |
| Delayed Penalties | | When a referee signals that he is about to penalize a player, but will not stop play until the team to be penalized touches the puck. |
Elbowing | 
| Use of the elbow to impede an opponent's progress. |
High Sticking | 
| A minor penalty when the stick is brought above normal height of the opponent's waist and hits or menaces the opponent; major penalty if injury results. |
Hooking | 
| The use of the stick in tripping or otherwise impeding the progress of an opponent. |
| Icing the Puck |  | Intentionally shooting the puck from behind the center red line over your opponent's goal line. |
| Interference |  | Interfering with the progress of an opponent who is not in possession of the puck. |
Charging | 
| Taking a run at opposing player using more than two strides to build up speed. |
Slashing | 
| Striking opposing player with stick with an intent to injure. |
Holding | 
| Clutching opposing player's body with hands, stick or arms. |
Tripping | 
| Upending an opposing player with your foot or stick. |
Misconduct | 
| Penalty to any player except the goalkeeper that results in removal from the game for a ten-minute period. |
| Unnecessary Roughness |  | Blocking or impeding the progress of an opponent in an overly violent manner. |
| Slow Whistle |  | When an off-sides call causes a delayed stoppage in play, this sign will be held until play returns to the neutral zone without stoppage. |
| Spearing |  | Stabbing an opponent with the stick's point. |
| Unsportsman-Like Conduct |  | The penalty called for biting, hair-pulling, face-masking, ect. |
| Washout |  | When used by a referee it means the goal does not count; when used by a linesman, it means there is no icing or off-sides |
